Wordprocessing and PDF components
This is a program to create written documents which offer interaction with the reader through hyperlinks. Among other formats, documentARRAY can create PDF files and web sites. In all cases the documents will be created as static data.
You have created a project you want to document. Use documentARRAY to create a structured manual in PDF form or as a web site. In case you created the documentation already using a different program, often you can reuse the already written texts in a new documentARRAY project.
You can export directly from WordPress to a XML file. docuemtnARRAY can load this XML site and convert all posts and pages to single entries in its pages list. You can use these and also added pages to create a new static site. The static site can be uploaded to a web server, but often also used locally. Please note, that many WordPress installations now use page buildes. Such plugins use and create very complicated code which cannot be imported.
You can create a project with new pages and export to a website or to PDF. In your website you can integrate pages from different projects.
Create documents which require excessive formation, such as complicated tables, layers and columns. This program follows the principle to break up text into paragraphs, headlines and lists. Such elements can be exported to different devices. However documentARRAY allows custom templates to format certain text elements into special HTML elements, i.e. create HTML accordions or galleries. This is a offline XML system, it requires a Windows computer to run. A Project can also be edited by one person at the same time.
TThis project tries to get rid of distractions which hinder you in writing good documentation. It is also capable to digest huge count of pages without having you to fight with a slow user interface or to make it difficult to quickly edit a large count of pages right after the other. Especially with online CMS this can be sometimes a real problem, if the editor is powerful and loads slowly.
documentARRAY supports in-page templates, this allows it to simply write paragraphs which will be transformed into certain HTML structures when exported to a HTML website. When exported as PDF the user can just see plain text or the text can be hidden using conditions.
If you have a Windows PC and some knowledge about how websites work you can use documentARRAY. You need to to know what FTP is and maybe also already edited a CSS (stylesheet) ot HTML in a program like notepad++. documentARRAY is a powerful tool for somebody who does not want to be limited by website builders, who is interested to optimize SEO and who needs to publish a lot of texts. If you write a a blog and are happy with your current system, i.e. WordPress, documentARRAY will probably not appeal to you.
A documentARRAY project is based on a SQL database which holds the connections between different pages, but also the contents of pages. As external files are loaded the templates, previous versions of pages, scripts and style sheets.
Using outlines the pages are exported to PDF and website menus are created. This makes it possible to use different outlines with the same source data to create different output.
Using conditions, it is possible to create different outputs from the same source text. The source text is interpreted at the time of export to extract certain parts, such as HTML, JavaScript code, or text written in a different language.
documentARRAY uses scripts to convert the text, create web menus and certain web alyouts, such as side bars and responsive lists.
